What we believe

An anchor doesn't drift with the tide.

Our Statement of Faith isn't fine print — it's the reason this church exists. Every article below stands on the King James Bible.

  1. 01

    The Scriptures

We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired word of God, and that God has preserved His words for English-speaking people in the King James Bible. It is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

  2. 02

    God

We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in power, glory, and every divine attribute.

  3. 03

    The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in Christ's pre-incarnate deity, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father's right hand, and His pre-tribulation return for believers.

  4. 04

    The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine person who convicts the world of sin and of righteousness, comforts the believer, and sanctifies the child of God.

  5. 05

    Salvation

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ — not of works — and that every truly born-again believer is eternally secure in Him.

  6. 06

    The Church

We believe the local church is a congregation of baptized believers, carrying out the Great Commission and observing the two ordinances given by Christ: believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper.

  7. 07

    Creation

We believe God directly created the universe and mankind, exactly as recorded in Genesis. We reject evolutionary theory in all its forms.

  8. 08

    Satan

We believe Satan is a real, fallen angelic being who rebelled against God through pride, is the enemy of every believer, and faces certain judgment.

  9. 09

    Eternity

We believe in a literal heaven, the eternal home of the saved, and a literal hell — eternal damnation in the lake of fire — for those who die without Christ.

  10. 10

    Separation

We reject the ecumenical and charismatic movements of contemporary Christianity, and stand — kindly but without apology — as an old-fashioned, independent Baptist church.
